Vespa SXL 150 Overview
The Vespa SXL 150 is the larger-engined version of the SXL, Vespa's sharper-styled scooter with a rectangular headlamp and squarer mirrors. The Nepal model uses a 154.8cc single-cylinder, three-valve, air-cooled BS4 engine with a carburettor that makes about 11.4 bhp and 11.5 Nm through a CVT, along with a 220 mm front disc with a twin-piston caliper and a 140 mm rear drum, an 11-inch front and 10-inch rear alloy wheel on tubeless tyres, a semi-digital instrument cluster and a steel monocoque body. ABS, an LED headlamp and a USB charger were added to some later versions sold elsewhere but are not confirmed on Nepal stock. It is offered in standard gloss colours and a matte finish.
In Nepal it is sold by Delta Autocorp through its Vespa and Aprilia outlets. The extra torque over the 125cc SXL makes a noticeable difference on Kathmandu's slopes and with a pillion, and the larger front disc helps when stopping with a passenger. Reviewers praise its planted ride, crisp throttle and stable handling, but note that the brakes lack bite, the switchgear feels cheap for a premium scooter, and it lacks conveniences such as an external fuel filler and a full digital dash. Fuel economy is lower than 125cc rivals. It suits riders who like the SXL look and want more pull for hills and two-up riding.
