Aprilia Storm 125 Overview
The Aprilia Storm 125 is a rugged-styled take on the SR 125, built for riders who face rough roads more than race tracks. It shares the SR's 124.45cc single-cylinder, air-cooled, 3-valve engine, making about 10 bhp and 10.3 Nm through a CVT, but swaps the 14-inch wheels for 12-inch alloys wrapped in chunky dual-purpose tyres, 120/80 at the front and 130/80 at the rear. Ground clearance is generous for a scooter, and the look is more off-road, with bold graphics. Braking uses a front disc and rear drum linked by a combined braking system, and the instruments are a semi-digital unit with an analogue speedometer. Aprilia Nepal lists it in two versions, labelled Stage A and Stage B.
In Nepal it is sold by Delta Autocorp through its showroom and service network in the valley and provincial towns. The fat tyres and clearance make it more forgiving on gravel, speed bumps and unpaved lanes than the SR 125, and the smaller wheels are easy to thread through traffic. The trade-offs are that the knobby tyres give less grip and more noise on wet tarmac, there is no ABS, and the 125cc engine feels strained on long climbs with a pillion. It suits riders who want a tough-looking, easy 125 for mixed city and rough roads.
