HAVAL Jolion Max Overview

The Haval Jolion Max is a compact electric SUV from GWM, sold in Nepal through the brand's dealer network and launched locally at the NAIMA mobility expo. Unlike the petrol and hybrid Jolion that most buyers know, this is a fully electric version built on GWM's newer EV platform (it shares its battery and drive setup with the GWM Ora 5). It runs a 58.3 kWh battery with a single 150 kW front motor making 260 Nm, drives the front wheels, and claims a WLTP range in the region of 400 to 430 km.

It comes well equipped for the money, with a large 14.6-inch touchscreen, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a panoramic sunroof, heated and ventilated front seats, a heat pump, and vehicle-to-load (V2L) that lets it power outside devices. On the safety and driver-assist front it is generously specified, with adaptive cruise control, lane-keep and lane-change assist, autonomous emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring, a 360-degree camera and front and rear parking sensors. The trade-offs are the ones common to affordable electric SUVs: it is a front-drive comfort-oriented crossover rather than a quick or sporty one, real-world range will drop below the claimed figure once Kathmandu hills, AC and traffic are in play, and its 190 mm ground clearance is fair for a crossover but not true rough-road territory.
