TATA Punch Ev Overview
The refreshed Tata Punch.ev is Tata's sub-compact electric SUV on the acti.ev platform, sold in Nepal by Sipradi in three trims: the Smart +32 with a 32 kWh pack and 65 kW motor, and the Empowered 40 and Empowered +S 40 with a 40 kWh pack and 95 kW motor. The 2026 update brings a cleaner front end, a connected LED tail lamp, a quoted real-world range of 300 to 325 km on the 40 kWh cars, 65 kW DC charging and a fresh 5 star Bharat NCAP rating, while keeping the 195 mm ground clearance and supple ride that suit Nepal's roads. Higher trims add twin 10.25-inch screens, a 360 degree camera, an electric sunroof and ventilated seats.
Its strengths are safety, with six airbags and ESP standard, a comfortable high-riding chassis, low running costs and Sipradi's nationwide sales, service and charging network. The trade-offs sit mostly inside: the cabin carries over from the earlier car with hard plastics, scratch-prone gloss black and inconsistent fit and finish, and the narrow rear bench has no rear AC vents. Real-world range is well below the certified figures, the steering is light and vague, and Tata's software and electrical reliability is patchier than its safety record.
