DEEPAL E07 Overview
The Deepal E07 is a large electric "transformer" SUV sold in Nepal by MAW Vriddhi AutoCorp, the authorized distributor of Changan vehicles. Its headline trick is genuinely unusual: at the push of a button the glass rear canopy slides forward and the tailgate drops, converting the coupe-styled SUV into an open pickup load bay, which is why it gets called a "Chinese Cybertruck" or Multitruck. Underneath it runs an 89.98 kWh ternary lithium (NMC) battery paired with a 190 kW rear motor good for 258 PS and 365 Nm, a claimed 566 km WLTP range, and DC fast charging up to 240 kW that Deepal says takes the pack from 30 to 80 percent in about 15 minutes.
It measures just over 5 metres long on a 3,120 mm wheelbase, seats five, and rides on air suspension that raises or lowers ground clearance rather than sitting at one fixed height. Nepal gets the rear-drive Transformer X trim, while a much more powerful dual-motor AWD version headlines the wider global lineup. What could be better
- Home AC charging is capped at 7 kW, so a full charge on a wall box takes around 14 hours and daily top-ups need planning
- Real-world range runs below the 566 km WLTP claim once hills, AC use and city traffic are factored into a big, heavy EV
- The pickup mode is more a clever feature than a true ute, with an open, unsecured and modest load area that is no substitute for a proper pickup for heavy or valuable loads
- Interior relies heavily on the touchscreen with few physical buttons, so common adjustments mean menu-diving on the move
- At just over 5 metres long and around 2.3 tonnes, it is a lot of vehicle for tight Kathmandu streets, narrow lanes and parking
- Most public DC fast chargers in Nepal deliver far less than the car's 240 kW peak, so the headline charging speed is rarely seen in practice
