The BMW iX3 is the electric version of BMW's X3 mid-size SUV, sold in Nepal by Laxmi Premium Motors as the brand's first battery-electric model in the market. The car offered here is the earlier G08 generation rather than the newer Neue Klasse iX3, and it is built on the same platform as the combustion X3, so it looks and feels like a familiar BMW SUV with an electric drivetrain rather than a ground-up EV. It runs an 80 kWh battery (about 74 kWh usable) driving a single 210 kW rear motor good for 286 PS and 400 Nm, claims up to 460 km of WLTP range, and does 0 to 100 km/h in around 6.8 seconds with a 180 km/h top speed.
It is rear-wheel drive only, seats five, and pairs twin 12.3-inch screens with a large 510-litre boot. The iX3's strongest trait is how easy and refined it is to live with: it is quiet, smooth and notably efficient for its size, which helps it get closer to its claimed range than many rivals in mixed driving. Charging is reasonable too, with 150 kW DC support taking the battery from 10 to 80 percent in roughly half an hour and an 11 kW AC charge filling it in about 7.5 hours.

What could be better
- This is the older G08 iX3 built on the combustion X3 platform, not the newer bespoke Neue Klasse EV, so there is no front boot and the packaging is conventional
- Rear-wheel drive only, with no all-wheel-drive option, which some buyers expect from a premium SUV in hilly and monsoon conditions
- Real-world range falls noticeably below the 460 km WLTP claim once hills, AC and city traffic are factored in
- AC home charging takes around 7.5 hours on an 11 kW charger, so daily top-ups need planning
